General Ledger is the core accounting module of the Enterprise2000 application suite. Unlike many other accounting ERP's and off-the-shelf applications, General Ledger does not insist on a specific chart of accounts in order to function or to generate various financial statements. Instead, the chart of accounts is set up by you, the customer, at the installation stage and may include high level summary accounts and low level detailed accounts, with overlap of information if necessary. This means you won't need to change the way you operate your business or accounts in order to use General Ledger. More importantly, the data is stored in an RDBMS, not a proprietary binary file structure (as it is for some off-the-shelf accounting packages). Therefore, it is quite simple to feed the data into a data warehouse for analyses.
